Stewardship of Finance "The promotion of the
practice of stewardship is important for the mission of the Church and for the
spiritual well-being of each individual Christian. Everyone benefits from the
sacrificial gift one makes of his time, talent and treasure. Therefore, please
accept my encouragement for your efforts and my prayers that your upcoming
conference will be a stimulus to the practice of stewardship in the
Church." Making a financial commitment or pledge of money to Sacred Heart Church is an acknowledgment that all we have is a gift from God, and we are choosing to honor God by returning to God a portion of what we have received for the work of Jesus Christ through our parish community. Regular weekly offerings support the operating budget, which is made up of the annual expenses that support the many ministries of the parish, including liturgy, music, adult and youth education, and outreach activities to name a few. These gifts for the general fund help the parish enhance and expand these important ministries. Weekly Envelopes All registered parishioners receive their weekly donation envelopes each month through the mail. The Offering Envelope Program is a great way to make you regular intentioned commitment to Sacred Heart Church. To register to receive Offering Envelopes, please contact the rectory office at (805) 647-3235 Building Fund Sacred Heart Church is blessed with a beautiful church and school. To keep the church and school looking its best requires ongoing attention to capital needs. Donations to the Building Fund have been used for projects such as replacing kneelers, painting, and general up-keep of buildings that are 40 years old. St. Vincent de Paul The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Sacred Heart provides ongoing support for the parish outreach program that assist individuals and families in the midst of extremely difficult circumstances. St. Vincent de Paul assists people directly and donations to this fund are used strictly for these purposes and not for general operations. Helping our brothers and sisters is central to the calling of our faith, and we are all blessed by the care that Sacred Heart parishioners have for others. Leave a Legacy - Planned Gifts As Christians we know that our life does not end here on earth. Nor do the things we care about and support while we are here end when we are gone. Making a planned gift such as designating Sacred Heart Church in your will or trust ensures that the ministries and programs that you care about will continue well beyond your lifetime.
